· Develops project objectives by understanding client requirements, site conditions, and functional needs; conferring with clients and stakeholders to determine architectural goals.
· Prepares conceptual designs by producing drawings, models, and visualizations that illustrate design ideas and architectural intent.
· Determines project specifications by reviewing building codes, zoning laws, environmental impact, and other regulations that influence the design.
· Creates detailed architectural plans and construction documents using design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
· Coordinates architectural design with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; integrates input from engineers and other consultants.
· Reviews and approves project designs and documentation for quality, compliance, and accuracy prior to client and regulatory submission.
· Manages project schedules by identifying project phases, sequencing tasks, estimating timelines, and ensuring design milestones are met.
· Conducts site visits to monitor construction progress, address field issues, and verify adherence to architectural intent.
· Reviews and responds to RFIs, submittals, and contractor queries to maintain progress and design intent during construction.
· Oversees construction progress by monitoring compliance with architectural plans and resolving on-site design issues.
· Prepares project reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing design, cost, and timeline data; recommending corrective actions if needed.
· Maintains documentation by updating drawings, logs, specifications, and project records for compliance, approvals, and reporting purposes throughout the design and construction phases.
· Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including ADA, building codes, and safety standards.
· Incorporates sustainable design practices and green building principles into architectural projects where applicable.
· Collaborates closely with clients to revise designs as necessary and gain approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
